16 at BYU Homecoming

Well, I am 31 and not sure how the handle 16 going to a University's Homecoming with a genius who graduated high school early this year at age 17 and got into BYU on a music scholarship for playing the organ! Woo--you never know what life will bring do you. But, 16 is handling it well and so is her friend "BYU."

So here are a couple of pics from when they came to pick her up. She is just so pretty. They grow up too fast, don't they.

Oh, just so you know what a great bargain shopper 16 and I are: her red dress from the previous post was clearanced down to $11 at Dillards and this yellow one she wore for Homecoming was clearanced at $23!! Not bad, huh!

Here are both couples. The girl in the blue is "BYU's" sister.

Big 40 Bash

Wow! Thank you to everyone who came to the party to support Marc and who left messages for him on the blog! I was so much fun! Marc borrowed a BBQ that was made out of a coffin--no I am not kidding, check it out in the pictures. I asked everyone who attended to wear black or wear a Halloween costume. Man it was fun to see everyone dressed up! We ate donuts on a string, bobbed for apples, gave out prizes, threw candy, socialized but, most important we ate a lot of good food. Thanks again everyone!

And here are some old pics I have never posted, just because I thought it would be fun. Here we go on a blast from the past...

This is at our friends place in fall of '07.
It is a hot spring fed pool and the kids love it!!
Good memories there.

12 and 3 on one of our camping trips summer of '07.

8 at the same camping trip at the lake.
I just love this pic.
12 and 16 are in the water behind him.

One of our performances at a local city festival.
Man, I love performing.
This is my mom (Judy), my sister, my aunt
and our bass player and drummer.

Christmas '07
It is tradition to get a pic on Christmas Eve
in front of my mom's Christmas tree.

Grandma and the 2 of her 4 granddaughters.

I love my camera!
This is 3 playing in the water on the trampoline.

Yes, I know, we are weird, but boy was this night full of fun memories. This is when the last Harry Potter book came out. My parent's friends own a book/antique store and they were having a big release costume party for the new book. Anyway. 12 is Harry Potter, 16 is Hermoine Granger and I am Rita Skeeter. Man, was that an interesting night!

Here is 8 and dad on the horses in the nearby orchards during the summer of '07.
This is one of the first times that 8 was able to ride the horse outside the corral.

Well, I hope that brought all you newcomers up to speed and gave all you oldcomers a good reminder laugh or to get to know us better.

Formal Fun

Well, it always fakes me out when 16 gets all dressed up for a date. She and a couple of friends decided since they would not be going to their high school's Homecoming that they would plan a formal date of their own. She and... I'll call him "BYU" have been close friends so she went with him and 2 other couples. Here are some pics of my beautiful 16 and her friends and dates.

Tagged for Quirks

6 of my Quirks:

The rules:
Link the person who tagged you.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Leave a comment to let them know.

1- I hate feet. I hate when other people touch my feet and I will not touch other people's feet. I do, however LOVE baby feet--I guess in my mind, they haven't had a chance to get nasty yet.

2- I forget things constantly. It is weird, I will set something somewhere and in my mind I say "don't set it there, you will forget where you put it" I ignore that thought and put it there--low and behold I forget where I put it. I often have to retrace my footsteps to remember what I came into the room to get or do.

3- I really get bugged when I know someone thinks bad of me. I just hate it--I really want to be liked. Am I still in high school?? I know, it seems that way, but I just don't like the thought of being hated--it actually worries me.

4- When I am sitting, whether bored or busy, I shake my right knee up and down. I have always done it, really, you will notice it next time you see me.

5- I do not let people see me without make-up if I can at all help it.

6- I laugh, sing and talk LOUD--like any of you didn't already know that.

I tag: Tynelle, Rochelle, Jessie, Susan, Suzy and Mary

Cattle Drive, Bull Story and a Horse Ride

OK, this should be one of the funner posts that I have put up lately so read on.

First I will start with the story that everyone around here has been talking about... it's on the video:

And here are some of the awesomely beautiful pics Marc got:

Blue lookin' good, getting ready to go.

Some of the cows they brought in.

Marc was enjoying the scenery.

Andy was lookin' good out on that horse cutting (separating) the cows, he has been painted by Jim Norton many times.

It was a beautiful starry night. They had hamburgers and dutch oven cookin' after the first drive that night out in the open. They really had a great time around the campfire, listening to the crackle of it, and the cows nearby.

The next morning, 12 got up to help cook breakfast for himself and Marc. Isn't he a cute cook?

12 rides like a real cowboy!

Beautiful desert ride.

Cows in a line being driven.

Blue had gotten a sore leg from the day before from running after the bulls. It was decided that 12 would stay back at camp while Marc went out for one of the last drives of the cattle. Marc took some video from the horse view of part of the cattle drive.

The following Monday Marc went on a lone horse ride--here are some pics. Lucky cowboy!

The fall colors are here. Luminous and vibrant.

OK, so why has Marc been having all the fun lately?? What about me? What about me, me, me? Don't worry it shall come and I shall post it...
