Broccoli Bouquet

OK, so my mom feels sorry for me that I can't eat grains, dairy, sugar. etc. but, is also proud of me for staying strong with it so far. So my mom being the incredibly awesome mom that she is brought me a broccoli bouquet!!! Ya, she said that the guy doing the balloons had to ask if she really wanted him to tie the balloons to the broccoli! He tried not to laugh the whole time--but she was laughing. Then the lady checking her groceries just took the broccoli bouquet and scanned it through as if it were no big deal! Too funny. She also brought me mushrooms, salad mix, nuts, and roasted chicken. Oh, Mom, you are the best!

Here it is in a vase of water!! Tee hee!

Oh, and by the way, I have lost 5 pounds since Monday! Crazy!

Congratulations on the 5 pounds! That's amazing in such a short time. Without getting too personal on a blog, why are you on a restricted diet?

holy cow! and I thought I was strict! so I'm proud of you! that would be hard. Grains are my favorite especially since I make whole wheat bread twice a week. Your mom is a sweetheart.

ok, so I have been off my computer a while appearently, I just read all the rest of your up-dates. Now to brag, did you know Mandi my sister has been off sugar for 8 months? Nothing! She says she doesn't even crave it. she says there are times it looks good, but she doesn't even want to go that road or it will be too hard to stop again. I know in New Zealand, she said they are all really healthy and a candy bar is three dollars. that would make it a little easier. Right after high school I went about 5 years without eating hardly any sugar. it was easy then, but I don't think i could ever do that again!

Your mom is so thoughtful and nice!!! I think it is great that you are changing your diet to improve your health. Too many people have problems that could be corrected with their diet, but opt for medication and misery etc. I'm proud of you, (I hope I never have to do it:) It'll be hard at first, but worth it I am sure!!! I have changed my diet a lot this year too trying to be healthier, but nothing to that extent - Keep it up!!!

Congrats! I have a great book, if you want to borrow it. It is called the "Eat Clean Diet". Some of the recipes have grains in them, but you could just skip them. Let me know if you want to borrow it.

I'm so sorry that really stinks. I wish you the best. Sounds like you have taken control the best way possible.

Wow! I am impressed. I think I do well if I stop eating chocolate for a while :) I found this really neat online food diary at the dailyplate.com People who keep keep a food journal are a million times more likely to lose weight than a person who does not. (K it isn't a million but it is a high number as far as statistics go but I can't remember exactly). Anyway the broccoli idea was cute. I can totally see your mom laughing as she is buying it. Love you guys. Remember last new years?
