Farm Hands

Yeah, we have farm hands...

...strong ones too.

(smile)

Our friends caught a picture of Marc out doing pull-ups on the horse corral gate.

Hey, we improvise around here.

That's what we rednecks do.

Tee hee!

In Living Color

Brother was taking these in Photo Booth on my laptop one day, I had totally forgotten about them until now. This is his calming technique when he is overwhelmed with stimuli, and he likes to show it off once in a while.

Then he asked me to be in the pictures with him. Aw, I love these pictures.

He really likes these because it looks like a rainbow.

I'm so glad he wanted to take these pictures. I know they are not perfect photographs, but, to me, they are works of art.

I finally went fake!

Wahoo!

Eyelash extensions are the snazziest thing ever!

I took a few pictures to show you how cool they look!

I had to post all of them because they made me laugh.
This is the first try... I thought, nope they can't see them as well, I'm too far away

So then I got closer... hmm... maybe too close

Then I thought I would give you the side view and see if that would help you get the idea of how long these puppies are... I don't even know how my shoulder and my neck and can morph to the point of looking like they are separated... aaaahhh, I've been beheaded...

So then I tried the cute side pose... it says oh, look how doe-eyed I am

This one I am starting to look like Jay Leno... and I don't think that is a compliment.
And these next two I can hardly even type I am laughing so hard... this is why I just had to put all of these on the post because... well... I mean really... Apparently I will never be the spokes model for winking... ha ha ha ha laugh along with me here, people, these are just plain funny

Seriously, Rachael, don't quit your day job!

So this one I thought I would try a sexy model look... I think my nostril is a little distracting...

This was my last try in vain but, at least you get a good look at my fakies.

Something Good

My husband listens to a local high school broadcasted radio station and he comes home and tells me about some of these new songs he hears.

Well, a couple of days ago he came home talking about one that he just loved but he couldn't understand at all what he was saying, had no idea what the song was called or who it was by. (The high school kids are out for the summer so there is no DJ to tell what songs have played.)

He heard it again on the radio and recorded it on his iPod and then played it to his friends phone because he has one of those apps that can tell you what song is playing.

Well, this is the song. Something Good Can Work by Two Door Cinema Club.

This is the first video we saw just because we wanted to know the lyrics. He sings them so fast! Marc and I are still trying to keep up. It's like a really bad Karaoke night while we both stand in front of the computer and try to sing the lyrics... quite hilarious on both parts.

I have listened to this song a hundred times today just because it makes me hoppy... no misspelling there, "hoppy," it's a cross between happy and peppy. I just love the music, it's so fun.

Here's the music video in case you want to see what Two Door Cinema Club looks like:

So, this song is something good for today. (smile)

I floored it!

My kids aren't very good eaters.

I try not to have them eat downstairs in the Family Room.

But, if they're not good eaters, and they will eat something if they can eat it downstairs, I sometimes give in.

I have been trying to be tougher lately because there have been a lot of spills lately.

So, when Sister wouldn't eat dinner but then asked for chips and salsa I was happy to oblige...

until she decided she wanted to eat her chips and salsa downstairs.

I was sticking to my guns... no salsa downstairs.

Period.

OK, so maybe there were three periods, like this...

After the crying and wailing and nashing of teeth I gave in, but I would not allow her to carry the salsa downstairs. She could carry the bag of chips.

I would carry the bowl of salsa.

I was even so smart as to put only a small amount in a large bowl so she couldn't spill as easily.

We got down there safely.

She sat down on the couch with her chips and then I thought that I should lay her blanket over her lap just for extra insurance that the salsa wouldn't end up on the floor or couch.

So I picked up the blanket and laid it out on her lap...

Did I mention that I still had the bowl of salsa in my hand...

Ya.

I poured it all over the floor while I was laying my insurance over her lap.

Good thing I made sure that I was holding the salsa.

Now, it's funny.

Ironic.

Then, not so funny.

Now, funny.

Then, not funny.

Got it?

Yep, that's what I'm tellin' ya, this is why I blog... so I can laugh about it later.

P.S. Salsa doesn't not clean up easily out of tan carpet. Just sayin'.

OT from the QP

Occupational Therapy from the Qualified Person...

That's what we get twice a month from Mary. She's awesome.

Baby did so well today.

She was talking up a storm today (really need to get her recorded) and really got her Occupational Therapist giggling.

She also brought the toy lender lady, Holly, with her and that was fun too.

I feel a little bit of a connection with these ladies because I used to work at Kids Who Count for a time, and both Brother and Sister have been part of their program.

It's sad though because when Brother and Sister were in the this early intervention program they were able to start at 18 months (well, Brother at 13 months because he was so delayed) and Baby won't even be able to go until she is 2 years old... Budget cuts or something... I guess.

Anyway, I am glad for the help we do receive. I know that Baby is doing so well because we got help for her so early.

That's the blessing of an early diagnosis.

I can't believe how much she has grown since this picture... I think she is about 5 months here and she had already been receiving help from Kids Who Count for 3 months at this point.

Flip Flops, Band-aids and French Fries

Sister loves to wear my flip flops around the house and Baby does what Sister does... so here she is wearing my flip flops and quite proud of it. She walk around the house in them and it's funny because they are just basically hanging on her feet.

I don't know... maybe Sister thought the table had an owie... ???

We met up with my mom when we went on our Friday yard sale trip and she wanted to treat the kids to hamburgers and fries. I really got a kick out of Baby dipping her french fries and eating them... I know, how exciting is it that she is dipping her french fries... Yay!!!
